Chapter 2 States of Matter (Physical Science)

Three states of Matter
Solid, Liquid, Gas
Solid: the particles of solids are very close together. Particale move fast but not fast enough to break away from each other
Solid have a definite shape and volume

Liquid: particles are more spread out than solid but the particles can't fully break away from one another
Liquid have a definite volume but not a definite shape (can change shape but the amount still the same)

Gas: molecules (particles) move so fast that they have no bond with another particle and are free to move wherever
Gas have no definte shape or volume (can change shape and the amount can change)

2 Types of Solid
1. Amorphous Solids - Not an arranged 3d shape, you can't really define the shape
2. Crystalline Solids - Has an arranged shape Example: Diamond and crystal

Liquids
Surface Tension - at the surface of water the molecules get closer and act more like a solid so small insects can walk on water

Viscosity- how well liquid flow (liquid resistance to flow)
High viscosity- slow flow
Low viscosity- fast flow
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chapter 1 The Properties of Matter (Physical Science)

Matter- is anything that has mass and take up space

Types of matter: Solid, Liquid, Gas

If something take up space, it has volume

The volume of a regular solid: length * width * height
units for volume: cm3(centimeter cube) or m3(meter cube) or mm3(milli meter cube)

The volume of a liquid: graduated cylinder
units: L or mL

The volume of an irregular solid:
Use the amount of water displaced
1 mL = 1 cm3

Mass - everything you are made of
Units of Mass: kg(killogram) or g(gram) or mg(milligram)

Weight - Mass * Gravity Gravity on Earth: 9.8 m/s2

Example: 50kg * 9.8 m/s2 = 490 N (Newton)

Density- the ratio of the mass of a substance to the volume of the substance
To find Density- mass/volume

Density of fresh water = 1 g/cm3 (gram per centimeter cube)

If an object has a density <>
If an object has a density > 1 (more than 1), it will sink
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When describing what something is many times we use Physical Properties

Physical properties are description of an object that can be measured without changing what the object is (appearance)

Thermal Conductivity- transfering heat

Solubility - ability to dissolve

Ductility - ability of substance to be pulled into a wire

Malleability - ability of substance to be rolled or pounded into thin sheets

Types of Physical Changes
Ice turn into H20
Melting ice cream
Cutting paper
ETC
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chemical Properties- properties of the object that can change into new matter
example- 2Fe + O2 (Rust) --> 2FeO (Iron Oxide)

Reaction - chemical change

Signs of Chemical Change
-Color change -Release heat from the reaction
-Release of gas -Change in smell
-Smoke/fire/light -Foaming/Bubble

The differences between Physical Change and Chemical Change are
For Physical change property of the object stay the same and it usually reverseable
For Chemical change property of the object changes and it usually not reverseable

Welcome to my dark side

Welcome to my dark side
Welcome to your dark side training... First of all what is this "dark side" It's somewhat a parasite. It cant survive without a host, and we humans are the host. It will not survive if you are so innocent and naive. We humans developed this gothic feeling around at the age of 8, if you are that dark, but i developed this feeling at 2 -*-. See my mom left me, and my dad is one of the person who you dont wanna be with, but it turns out that what he done to me, created my dark side. This dark feeling makes you feel stranded, the best you can do is to be nice to it and let it eat you from the inside out. You cant tame it, you cant be friend with it, it's  a feeling and you would understand everything after only you are "dead". The feeling makes you feel so dark, you wanna be alone, you wanna hurt yourself, or someone, and kill. Let's put it this way, there's 3 levels of  this feeling. The first level, happened when you just made contact with it. You felt pressured, when someone is making fun of you, but still you ignored them. Most people chose to ignore it, what happen next after you ignore it ? You face the 2nd level. Now, the second level will make you feel hopeless and useless. You will feel like you are nothing but a f__king piece of crap in this cruel world. You chose to ignore it because you dont have anyone else to talk to, not even your family, or your friend. You hate everyone so much that you cry almost in every single night. You feel so much pressured that you will feel like you just wanna simply "die" or "vanish". You will hurt yourself, for examples attempt to suicide, or cut yourself with a razor knife, or paper cutter. Now you are a very dark person, you may decide who is your friend, comrades, or enemy. You can only express your feeling through tears, because tears are so valuable, not even the "naive" should even say the word cry, because they dont know what is the word "pain", "agony", "torture". The alternative of expressing the feeling is through songs, like dark gothic or gothic metal. You continue to keep the feeling to yourself that you will move to the 3rd level. I'm only at two and a half, because if i am 3, i would be dead and you guys would be partying at my funeral, so keep waiting. The 3rd level, you felt pain and pressured that you commit a suicide, and you dont even care if you're going to hell or not. You hate god so much for putting you in this position and that you commit a suicide to clear out your mind and when you are a wraith, you will understand the secret of Yggdrassil, the world tree, AKA the tree of eternity, and every emotion. At level two and a half, it's very different and weird, you feel like your "inner demon" has just woken up from it's slumber, you imagine you have the third red eye, and your inner demon now take control of you. When you cry, there is a chance that if your dark side, pity you for being who you are then maybe it will bloom into something you admire or wanted to have in the darkness. In my case, an older sister -*-, good luck seeking your inner demon, my brothers and sisters. See you after death.

はい~!ともだち(たち)、こんにちは!ココだよ~
"yes"~! friends, hello! Coco kub~

Hiragana ひらがな
Katakana かたかな

Um, why are there 2 sets of "alphabet"? Hiragana is for Japanese words or particles. Katakana is for foreign words. Also there are Chinese characters, "Kanji"
Ex. チョコァトがたべます。~I eat chocolate. チョコァト("chocolato")is written in Katakana because it is foreign word. 私is written in Kanji, but it also have its Hiragana form- わたし(watashi)(me). So Kanjis are not required, but it will make u look more pro. if u use some.は。。。が(。。。)たべます。は。。。が(wa...ga) are particles so it is written in Hiragana. たべます(tabemasu) means to eat~also Hiragana.
